Rev. Amy B. Perry
|
She spent her late twenties and early thirties, in Huston, TX, she spent working in the oil and gas industry, making new friends, living a pretty good life an trying to attend church and figure the whole God thing out. Having troubles with her ongoing conversation with God, arguing with Him about everything, she ended up moving to Mesopotamia (Iraq).
She was offered a job to work as a contractor, a Senior Logistics Coordinator in Iraq. Traveling around the country, she was able to visit the old city of Ur and Abraham’s home and the Great Ziggurat that still stands. God was speaking to her the whole time she was there. Telling her to stop arguing, listen, open her eyes, and most of all, understand. She had the opportunity to meet Christians whose families had gone back thousands of generations and spoke of God in a way that she hadn’t heard before, she began to grow in the faith and understanding of God, providing her confidence.
"He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”"
~ Psalm 46:10 (New International Version)
After 5 years in Iraq, Amy came home and had a conversation with God, and from that conversation, two day’s later she met Adam, her future husband and the one that encouraged her to become a pastor. While still arguing with God, He decided to change her mind.
Pastor Amy, a licensed minister in the Church of the Nazarene, now serves as an Associate Pastor of the Hope ConneXion Church of the Nazarene. Previously she was the Executive Pastor of the Hope ConneXion COTN and the Executive Director of the Hope ConneXion Outreach Center to which she served for almost 6 years. Also previously she was the Interim Pastor of Liberty Church of the Nazarene in Prescott, AR.
Amy’s day-to-day is assisting in all needed functions of the Hope ConneXion, pulpit supply for several congregations; she is currently finishing up her studies at Nazarene Bible College and is on track to be ordained in 2026. Rev. Amy is currently working on her studies and preparing a book for publication along with many other projects.
“All in all, God has truly blessed me and my family in so many ways. I am humbled and grateful for His presence in my life. Give all praise to Him!”
