Addiction is a liar. (1) You don't have to be alone (2), you don't have to fight your addiction alone (3). You are worthy (4). You are Loved (5). And if you so choose, you too may be a Child of God (6), a member of the Chosen (7); who together are betrothed to the King (8), our Lord, Jesus Christ (9).
Here at the Hope ConneXion, we have an addiction support group that is designed as a little bit 12 step, a little bit Bible Study, a little bit group therapy, a little bit body of Christ, and a little bit of choosing our own family. We come together as individuals battling the addictions of the world, knowing alone we will loose, but together, with Christ as our Lord, we will succeed! (10) Come join us. Sober Companions, family members, and students are allowed in our groups, as long as they participate and hold in confidence, the personal stories of others, for they belong to them, not us. Please let the group leader know of your presence before the start of the meeting. |
10 Things you should know about us!
- We are friends of Bill & Jimmy K. & Anyone. (We play well with others)
- The requirement for membership is a desire to stop using substances, people, or other addictions to replace our relationship that we are supposed to have with Jesus Christ.
- All of our meetings are open (except the ones we hold in the jail).
- Our Higher Power is Jesus Christ.
- There are no dues of fees.
- We don't require people to go to 'church' but we do require people to be the church.
- We recognize mental health issues.
- We are not against Medications.
- The "anonymous" thing: we don't want members' full names or faces to be revealed in the media. Also we don't disclose other member's names to people outside of our groups.
- Our relationship with Jesus is the key... Through Jesus anything can be overcome. There is no addiction a relationship with Jesus Christ cannot overcome, for Christ has overcome the world!. Through Him who is I Am you will be set free!

What is Overcomers in Christ?
Overcomers in Christ (OIC) is an addiction recovery support group, that is similar to AA, NA, ALNON, etc. The main differences are, the higher power is Jesus and the understanding that God can and will remove your addiction, but first you must give your life to Jesus!
